CHAMPIONS LEAGUE MATCH PREDICTIONS

DAN FITCH GAVE HIS CHAMPIONS LEAGUE MATCH PREDICTIONS FOR UNIBET: SOCIEDAD WILL HOLD MANCHESTER UNITED TO A DRAW

Mon, 04/11/2013

FC Copenhagen 3.35, Galatasaray 2.20, Draw 3.50

Galatasaray have got themselves into a very decent position in Group B. Having drawn with Juventus in Turin they could grab second place and will be highly motivated for this one. Err on the side of caution by backing Gala in the Draw No Bet market at 1.58.

Score Prediction: FC Copenhagen 1 Galatasaray 2 (9.50)

Juventus 2.45, Real Madrid, 2.80, Draw 3.65

With Galatasaray in the driving seat Juventus really need a win to keep them in contention. Real Madrid could only beat them 2-1 at the Bernabeu and haven’t been that convincing away from home this season. Again, I’m playing cautious by backing Juve at 1.80 in the Draw No Bet market.

Score Prediction: Juventus 3 Real Madrid 2 (22.00)

Manchester City 1.18, CSKA Moscow 18.00, Draw 7.25

Victory for Manchester City in this match will more or less assure their passage to the Champions League knockout stages for the first time. Coming into the game off the back of a 7-0 win in the Premier League, confidence will be high. Back City to win both halves at 2.15.

Score Prediction: Manchester City 3 CSKA Moscow 1 (12.50)

Olympiakos 2.30, Benfica 3.15, Draw 3.35

Benfica have under-performed in the Champions League this season, considering that they reached the final of the Europa League in 2012-13. They head into this match dead level with Olympiakos and this encounter could decide which of them finishes second behind PSG. Instead, I’m expecting a draw that will ensure that the drama continues till the last round of games.

Score Prediction: Olympiakos 1 Benfica 1 (5.75)

Paris St-Germain 1.09, Anderlecht 30.00, Draw 11.00

PSG have won all three of their group games so far, while Anderlecht have lost all of theirs. It seems likely then that this is not a question of whether Laurent Blanc’s team will win, but by how many goals. Back them -2 goals at 1.80.

Score Prediction: Paris St-Germain 3 Anderlecht 0 (6.00)

Real Sociedad 3.15, Manchester United 2.35, Draw 3.40

After a terrible start to the season, Real Sociedad have got back on track. Their 1-0 away defeat at Old Trafford is their only loss in the last five games and they won 5-0 against Osasuna at the weekend. United have also seen an upturn in their fortunes, but I think the home side can pull off a draw to give themselves a slim hope of qualifying for the Europa League.

Score Prediction: Real Sociedad 1 Manchester United 1 (6.75)

Shakhtar Donetsk 2.05, Bayer Leverkusen 3.65, Draw 3.60

Leverkusen hammered Shakhtar 4-0 in their last meeting, in what was something of a shock result. Since then Sami Hypia’s side have suffered a domestic loss at the weekend and they are unlikely to find things as easy in the Ukraine. I’m backing another draw in Group A.

Score Prediction: Shakhtar Donetsk 2 Bayer Leverkusen 2 (12.50)

Viktoria Plzen 22.00, Bayern Munich 1.14, Draw 8.50

This is another example of a side that have won all of their games facing the group’s whipping boys. Bayern should win this at a canter and I like the odds of them winning both halves at 2.06.

Score Prediction: Viktoria Plzen 0 Bayern Munich 4 (9.50)
